VISA x OLYMPICS
PARIS 2024
In a 3-part docuseries with VISA for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games on the campaign, I built and created specialized hardware electronics to transform x3 time Olympic Champion Adam Peaty’s swimming into music, alongside artist and music producer Ellie Dixon.

Inspired by the idea that the human body is a symphony, where every part needs to be in harmony — I wanted to explore how this concept plays out in the life of an Olympic athlete like Adam Peaty, whose performance relies on complete synchronicity between mind, muscle, and breath.
The aim was to highlight this harmony by transcending the physicality of Adam’s form and heart rate into an auditory experience, allowing people to hear the precision and emotion behind every movement.
Using EMG sensors to capture his muscle activity and ECG sensors to monitor his heart rate outside the pool, I translated these data points into melodies, rhythms, and patterns — mapping his body’s motion into musical expressions.
To capture Adam’s movements while swimming, I developed a body-tracking camera system using PoseNet, a computer vision model that detects human poses based on the spatial coordinates of key body parts like the eyes, nose, shoulders, wrists, and hips.
These x and y coordinates were then converted into MIDI signals — triggering specific notes depending on the body part and its movement in space, creating a direct connection between Adam’s swimming and sound. With Ellie Dixon, we composed a track entirely from Adam’s performance.

My goal was to highlight the extraordinary levels of harmony and coordination required for him to compete at his caliber — and to transform that into a unique piece of music that reflects the orchestration behind every move. Ultimately, the project aimed to encapsulate the emotional resonance of his journey to the Olympics.
