Data Romantics Book
Data Romantics is a limited edition artist book published by Reference Press to accompany my exhibition ‘Data Romantics: Tigris’ at 180 The Strand’s Reference Point on February 14th 2022.
The book traces Tigris’ initial forays into working with emotional data collection and hardware engineering to examine the intersections of technology, love, dating, and data, and how they can lead to more meaningful and healthier connections.
The individual works in the book are printed in Risograph as lo-fi renderings to depict the trace imperfections and subjectivities that are characteristic of emotional data. This book serves as an introduction to the ideas, inspirations, and questions that inform my practice, and includes an overview of projects such as an algorithm-driven dating booth and a diary of love-bites. This hand-numbered edition of 150 features a band-bound, soft cover, 72 pages, coding inserts, and custom Tarot Cards.
